How the metal sign is made:
We make decorative metal signs through a process called sublimation. A mirror image is printed in metallic ink onto sublimation paper, then baked into the surface of a uniquely-coated metal blank in a heat press.

The image is the heart of the metal sign. Some are created from scratch by one of our artists, while others are sourced from old advertisement archives. Each image must meet stringent quality standards for size, color, and dimension.  Our artists prepare them so they so they will transfer to the metal without any loss of detail or vibrancy.

Once the image for the metal sign is complete, it is printed onto heat transfer paper with special, enamelized, sublimation ink.  We print a mirror image so it comes out correctly when baked onto the steel.

A high-capacity printer creates these transfers on a continuous roll of paper. Once the ink dries, we use scissors to cut the metal sign transfers apart, leaving a one-inch border of blank paper around the outside of the image area.  The printed mirror image itself is a few millimeters larger than the steel it will go onto, so that when we press the metal sign, the image will bleed all the way to, and onto, the edge.

One of the things that sets our metal signs apart from others you find out there is the quality of our steel.  These are not like the flimsy tin signs you might find at the flea market; ours are thick metal signs made on 24-gauge steel.  One of our 12”x16” metal signs weighs over a pound.  Many of the competitors weigh barely half that.

In making a metal sign, the construction of the blank is key. Our metal sign blank is composed of three layers.  The first is the steel, cut to a precise size, complete with its rounded corners, each with a hole for hanging or mounting on the wall.  One side of the blank is then powder-coated, which is a process of attaching electrically charged, powdered epoxy particles to the metal surface, then liquefying and bonding the white epoxy to the metal sign surface in an oven.  Last, the surface is finished with a proprietary polymer coating that gives our signs their shine and durability.

The final step in making a metal sign is the heat press step.  We place the white, shiny side of the metal sign blank onto the image transfer, centering it precisely to insure the image goes on straight.  If we are just making a few custom signs, we press them on the small, single-sign press.  If we are making more than a couple of dozen, we crank up the big press that can produce two dozen 12”x16” metal signs every 6 minutes.  Whether the big press or the small one, the press applies even pressure over the entire metal sign surface for around 90 seconds, heating the metal to about 400 degrees.

Through a process called sublimation, the ink on the paper transfer evaporates, passes through the clear, proprietary polymer layer, and binds to the white, epoxy layer.  Wearing a thick glove, we remove the oven-hot metal sign from the press and peel the spent transfer from its surface.  The finished metal sign is set on a cooling rack, then inspected for quality, and once deemed perfect, slipped into a protective polybag, ready for shipment or other finishing steps such as framing or sun-protection.

I received a  Extra long Anti Slip Bath & Shower Mat from DREAMS-ABM in exchange for an honest review. Anyone who knows me knows how much I love baths. So much that I take 2 a day! A good bath mat is a great way to add to the relaxation and enjoyment of any bath. This  Extra long Anti Slip Bath & Shower Mat  is absolutely incredible because it is so well made for such an amazing price!

The bath mat feels super soft yet sturdy as if it will last a very long time. It is the perfect size, longer then any bath mat I've seen so it really cover my tub well. It was super easy to put in my bath and stayed in place which I love! I also love that it's Antibacterial, 100 PVC and BPA Free, and has No Toxic Smell. I would highly recommend it to anyone!
